Welcome to Bowen Mountain Retreat
About
Nestled at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, just over an hour from Sydney, our retreat offers a timeless connection to the land, nurtured by generations. The retreat is set on five acres of lush gardens with spectacular views over the Hawkesbury valley and Sydney skyline. Stepping into this sanctuary, you'll experience peace and a connection between people and the serene natural beauty of Bowen Mountain to unwind, rejuvenate and enjoy.
Our retreat was founded with the intention of providing guests with a peaceful getaway to relax and unwind. The house was built by owner Louise’s father and filled with original artworks created by her mother. Louise’s parents lovingly planted the gardens and forests on the property to support wildlife and create a sense of peace for our visitors. It’s Louise’s dream to share with you the beauty her parents created.
At Bowen Mountain Retreat, we focus on providing a healing and peaceful experience for guests. Regular retreats offer yoga, meditation, drumming, dancing and nature walks. We believe that nature has the power to energize and rejuvenate the body, mind, and spirit. Come and experience the healing power of the Blue Mountains.

Certified Nature Reserve
Bowen Mountain Retreat is a registered wildlife sanctuary that supports diverse wildlife including swamp wallabies, koalas, bandicoots, and possums. The retreat is known for its abundant bird life including seven different species of parrots, king parrots, eastern and crimson rosellas, endangered gang-gang cockatoos, pink and grey galahs, black-tailed cockatoos, and rainbow lorikeets.
The property has a passive solar design that is warm in winter and cool in summer. Water is supplied by two large rainwater tanks, with showers and pool heated by the sun. We have two fireplaces with wood sourced from the property. All green waste is composted and nurtures the gardens.
